Crime Victim Unit

Survivors may face concurrent cases in the federal criminal court, local criminal court, immigration court, and local civil court—all related to the crime they suffered, all at the same time. Our Crime Victim Unit assists survivors of crime with civil legal issues they are facing because of the crime committed against them.

We can help with legal issues like:

  • Divorce, Custody, and Adoption;
  • Employment Law;
  • Debt Collection and bankruptcy;
  • Foreclosure and eviction;
  • Financial Assistance and Public Benefits Access;
  • Rights Enforcement;
  • Tax Issues; and
  • Sealing or expunging a criminal record.

We can help you if:

  • Your legal problem is a civil issue;
  • You live in our service area;
  • You are low-income and meet income qualifications; and
  • You have been a victim of: HUMAN TRAFFICKING, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, HOMICIDE, EMOTIONAL ABUSE, ROBBERY, PHYSICAL ABUSE, ASSAULT, IDENTITY THEFT, NEGLECT, ELDER ABUSE, KIDNAPPING, STALKING, BULLYING, ARSON, SEXUAL ABUSE, BURGLARY, FRAUD, THEFT, CYBER CRIMES, VANDALISM
