Eviction Text Messaging Program

In partnership with Texas Legal Services Center, we launched an Eviction Text Messaging Program. The program helps to guide our clients through the JP Court Eviction Appeal process with text messaging support. This guided support will provide text message reminders of deadlines, links to helpful information at appropriate times, and answer questions about the eviction process.

If you disagree with an eviction court order, you can request a “do-over” – A new trial before a new judge. This is called an “appeal.” Aside from providing individuals and families an opportunity to have a new trial, tenants can also apply for available rental assistance programs while the case is on appeal, helping them stay in their homes.

Our clients receive help understanding the eviction appeal process, are provided with free legal advice, and assistance in drafting a Statement of Inability to Pay Court Costs and Appeal of their eviction suit. Contact us online at www.LoneStarLegal.org or by phone at 1-800-733-8394, to see if you are eligible to enroll in the Eviction Text Messaging Program.

Lone Star Legal Aid is committed to representing the people in our service area who need us. Even if you use the resources on this page, you can still apply for help below.
