Advancing LSLA’s AI Chatbot Project

Topic
Tech

At Lone Star Legal Aid, we are always looking for innovative ways to improve efficiency and enhance access to legal services. Our AI chatbot initiative is one such effort, and we’ve made significant progress over the past month.

LSLAsks: Streamlining Administrative Processes

On February 12, we met with our accounting department to discuss LSLAsks, our internal chatbot designed to streamline administrative processes. This tool will help LSLA staff quickly access essential resources, policies, and procedural guidance, ultimately improving workflow efficiency across departments. Our discussion focused on how LSLAsks can best serve our administrative needs and how we can refine its functionality to support our team effectively.

TIG Team Kickoff: Laying the Foundation

The following week, on February 19, we held our internal kickoff meeting with our TIG (Technology Initiative Grant) team. This meeting marked a major milestone in the project, allowing us to establish a clear strategic plan moving forward.

During the session, we:

  • Took headshots of team members to personalize project updates and communications.
  • Reviewed the dedicated website page created to keep stakeholders informed about the project’s progress.
  • Assigned duties for grant-specific tasks to ensure accountability and project success.
  • Discussed collaborators and opportunities for new collaboration, upcoming presentations, and ways to engage our legal aid partners.

What’s Next?

The next phase will focus on development, testing, and expanding our outreach to ensure this technology serves both our internal team and the communities we support.

We’ll continue providing updates as we make progress—stay tuned for more developments on how AI is shaping the future of legal aid at LSLA!
