Legal Services Corporation Honors Employees for Decades of Service


Lone Star Legal Aid (LSLA) honored the dedication of 27 employees during its final quarterly board meeting in 2024. Certificates of Appreciation, presented by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), recognized these individuals for their remarkable service of 25 years or more to advancing justice for underserved communities.

Highlighting the ceremony were employees with exemplary tenures, including Gloretta Thornton, honored for an impressive 48 years of service; Lydia Rivas-Luna, 47 years; and Dianna J. Hope, 46 years.

“The unwavering commitment of these honorees is the foundation of Lone Star Legal Aid’s success,” said LSLA CEO Paul E. Furrh, Jr., who was also recognized for his 44 years of service. “Their efforts have profoundly impacted the lives of our clients and strengthened our mission of justice for all.”

These honorees have significantly contributed to LSLA’s ability to handle over 25,000 cases annually, addressing critical issues such as housing, domestic violence, and public benefits. Their work has ensured that justice remains accessible to low-income individuals and families across Texas and Arkansas.
