Union Pacific (“UP”) has applied to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (“TCEQ”) for an RCRA Permit that would address the Creosote/DNAPL Plume that is currently underneath parts of a residential neighborhood in the 5th Ward/Kashmere Gardens area, as well as its own property. Before UP’S permit is approved, the public has the right to weigh in on the matter in public comments.
Join us on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 6 PM CST, for a virtual public meeting we are hosting with IMPACT on Zoom to provide information and get you ready for the TCEQ’s public meeting on Monday, June 21, 2021, at 6 PM CST. You’ll learn what deficiencies with the permit we have identified, how you can submit public comments expressing your concerns with the permit, and what solutions there might be for some of these deficiencies. You’ll also learn what to expect at TCEQ’s meeting on June 21st, where representatives of both TCEQ and UP will be present virtually to answer your questions about the permit.
