As the pandemic continues, so do our virtual outreach efforts. We continue to provide informational live series for the community in hopes of encouraging continued engagement and providing valuable resources to a large audience.
Lone Star Legal Aid’s Equal Justice Works team and AARP in Houston will be partnering together the first Friday of every month during May, June, July and August to discuss legal topics that assist not only with preparing for a disaster but also with recovery efforts. Estate planning, contractor fraud, and disaster related scams are some of the issues that continually affect disaster victims. Through these lives, viewers will have a better understanding on how to legally secure their future and not fall victim to these common legal pitfalls. They will also be able to ask questions to LSLA and AARP representatives, Meghan Smolensky and Rosalinda Martinez.
The first episode will air live this Friday, May 7, at 11:00 AM. Register for the event here!
