Lone Star Legal Aid’s virtual outreach program, which was initially started as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has gained significant traction and flourished into a dynamic and effective tool accessible across multiple platforms for the general public. Included in our virtual outreach schedule is our recurring Law Talk Fridays: every Friday, one of our branches or units collaborates with a community partner to educate and bring awareness to certain highlighted issues.
To kick off the month of January, our Individual Safety Unit will be partnering with Lisa Hatfield, Crime Victim Liaison at Temple Police Department. Lisa has been an advocate for victims for over 20 years and will be sharing her wealth of knowledge about the role of victim liaisons within the criminal justice system, services available for victims of crime, and some of the new challenges COVID-19 has presented.
Next week, the Belton office will be discussing Human Trafficking in Bell County area and how to ask for help. Tune in at 3 PM on our Facebook page to watch our Friday Law Talks live or check in later on Instagram or Facebook to catch up!
