Chief Justice Nathan Hecht and Lone Star Legal Aid CEO Paul Furrh visited with LSLA staff at our temporary office space at McGuireWoods LLP. The worldwide firm donated office space to us following the fire at our Houston office in the middle of Hurricane Harvey. Chief Justice Hecht found our Equitable Development Initiative busy at work this morning. Our team was inspired by the Chief Justice’s visit and his words of encouragement. He shared that he was impressed to see LSLA back up and running so quickly after the fire at our main office. In addition to McGuireWoods, LSLA is moving into donated office space at Latham & Watkins LLP and Vorys Sater Seymour and Pease LLP. We are thankful for the tremendous support from the legal community in Houston, without which our rapid return to normal operations would not be possible.
