FREE Well Water Sample Testing & Results Interpretation
The US Water Alliance, Lone Star Legal Aid, and the Dyersforest Heights Civic Club has been working to better understand the issues that folks in the Dyersdale, Houston Suburban Heights, and Forest Acres subdivisions are facing with their wells. As part of this effort, we have brought in the “Well Informed” program, run by Texas Well Owner Network (TWON), which is part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. The “Well Informed” TWON program is an educational program that gives well owners the opportunity to have their well water samples tested for common contaminants including fecal coliform, E. coli bacteria, nitrates, arsenic, and high salinity. The testing of the water samples is followed by a one-hour explanation of the results, education on best practices for well owners, and recommendations for remediating well contamination. This will all be free of charge.
To participate in the water sample testing, you must drop off a sample at Jesus Way Baptist Church between 4pm and 6pm on Wednesday, September 11. Refer to the image below for sampling instructions and reach out to event organizers if you have questions!
