Lone Star Legal Aid Hosts Fundraiser and Food Drive to Support Houston Food Bank

In honor of Giving Season, we are hosting food drives to support local food banks! Our goal is to increase food stability and raise awareness of our services in all 76 counties we serve.

Giving Season takes place between November 1 and December 31. During this time, nonprofit organizations campaign for donations, champion volunteer work, and inspire acts of kindness. Giving Tuesday is on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. Unlike its more transactional counterparts, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday encourages charitable donations. Nonprofits enact real-world changes in our communities, so donations big and small make an impact.

This year, our staff donated 61 pounds of food and over $1,200 to the Houston Food Bank during the week of November 14th. Those donations were delivered today, just in time for Thanksgiving. It is our hope that the communities we serve have a safe and joyous holiday.
