We hope that our client community is safe and managing well during these ever-changing and uncertain times. We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19/Coronavirus Pandemic across our service area and Lone Star Legal Aid’s work continues with all operations running virtually. This means we are working from home and are not available at our offices.
Similar to preparing for and recovering from a hurricane, earthquake, or wildfire, individuals may be facing legal issues related to healthcare, economic stability, safe and sanitary housing, public benefits, employment, environmental justice, domestic violence, and discrimination as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Lone Star Legal Aid will continue to work on critical issues on behalf of our client community, through our individual representation of clients and our systemic advocacy.

The CDC recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular
household cleaning spray or wipe. - CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect
themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19. - Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after
going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or
sneezing. - If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with
at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
