Lone Star Legal Aid’s Military & Veterans Unit to Host Fundraiser at Sawyer Heights MOD Pizza


Houston, TX – Lone Star Legal Aid is proud to announce that pizza sales at the Sawyer Heights MOD Pizza location (1911 Taylor St, Ste. A, Houston, TX 77007) on Sunday, September 11, 2022, will benefit our Military & Veterans Unit.

About Our Military & Veterans Unit

The Houston metro area is home to Texas’ largest veteran population and the nation’s second-largest. Our Military & Veterans Unit (MVU) provides free civil legal services to low-income United States military veterans, their dependents, and surviving spouses throughout Texas.

We can help with:

  • Veterans Benefits, including discharge upgrades, character of discharge review, service-connected disability, non-service connected pension, survivor’s benefits, and education benefits (GI Bill and Hazelwood Act);
  • Bankruptcy, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 for home and asset protection and debt discharge;
  • Expunctions & Non-Disclosures of misdemeanor and felony cases;
  • Custody & Child Support, including enforcement, establishing, and modification of child support;
  • Consumer Issues, including consumer debt defense, contracts & warranties, home repair, and lemon law;
