Join Lone Star Legal Aid and CHILDREN AT RISK for an educational bus tour presentation on human trafficking in Houston Tuesday, October 22, 2019, generously sponsored by Locke Lord, LLP. Attorneys will get a first-hand look at both where major trafficking incidents were identified, where this crime may be presently occurring, and will learn to identify the red flags and potential signs of human trafficking in their community.
Texas is a leading hub for human trafficking and continued efforts are being made to reduce and assist the victims of these crimes. CHILDREN AT RISK leads educational presentations on human trafficking in Houston as well as Dallas and Fort Worth.
The evening will begin at 6pm and end at 8:30pm outside CHILDREN AT RISK located at 2900 Weslayan, Suite 400, Houston, Texas 77027 with a brief presentation on the intersection between commercial sex and human trafficking. Attorneys in attendance will receive CLE credit.
CHILDREN AT RISK is a research and advocacy organization dedicated to addressing the root causes of poor pubic policies affecting children. This organization has grown to become known statewide, impacting children in Texas and driving change for over 30 years. They work on a range of children’s issues, including education, parents and family wellbeing, health and nutrition, immigration, and the fight to end human trafficking.
