Lone Star Legal Aid Joins Texas Giving Month & East Texas Giving Day 2022

April is Texas Giving Month, and East Texas Giving Day is April 27th! Now that Texas is opening back up and the pandemic is hopefully winding down, it is a great time to help East Texas Charities recover.

“Giving Day is happening at a critical time for the nonprofit community,” said Holly McFarlin, Public Relations Director of East Texas Communities Foundation. “Nonprofits are responding to an increased demand for services, meanwhile, donations have slowed due to the postponement of public fundraising events due to the pandemic. Giving Day could be a bridge to help fill some of those funding gaps many nonprofits are experiencing.”

Non-profits are also businesses, and individual donations allow us to be innovative, provide high quality services, and sustain our work when other resources are unavailable. Individual donations also allow us to help people and families in ways that funders and program designers might not have considered.

There are over 2 million eligible Texans living in our 76 County service area. In 2021, we served over 61,000 individuals. We assisted over 4,700 cases for senior citizens and their families, over 1,300 cases for veterans, surviving spouses, and dependents, and over 9,000 cases for individuals and their families with domestic violence related situations.

East Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online event that provides critical funding for East Texas nonprofits. East Texas Communities Foundation is partnering with area nonprofits to give thousands of donors from every community in East Texas a chance to raise funds for local needs.

By giving to us, you are fighting the barriers faced by the most vulnerable people in our community. You can donate crypto or visit our ways to give page to learn about other ways to help us help Texans.
