The Federal Trade Commission’s National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) is March 6-12, 2022. Looking to protect yourself from fraud, identity theft, and scams? Maybe you’re wondering about the best way to use credit, how to shop for a used car, or even how to prevent foreclosure or bankruptcy. NCPW is a time to help people understand their consumer rights.
Texas Consumer News
The Texas Homeowner Assistance Fund Program opened it’s portal on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. TXHAF will provide eligible homeowners with grants to pay past due mortgage payments, property taxes, insurance, and/or HOA fees.
The program’s goal is to help homeowners avoid foreclosure on their primary residence by providing mortgage assistance. Your lender’s agreement to participate may be required, since mortgage assistance is directly provided to lenders on the homeowner’s behalf.
More information, including links to frequently asked questions (FAQs) and the application portal, can be found here.
