In commemoration of National Pro Bono Week (October 21st -27th ), Lone Star Legal Aid, in collaboration with the Brazos County Bar Association, honors six attorneys with 2018 Bryan Branch Office Awards: Joe R. Patranella; Most Cases Handled; C. David Stasny, Most Litigated Cases Handled; Matthew D. Doss, Most Litigated Cases Handled; Julie Young, Most Contested Cases Handled; Reese Baker, Most Pro Bono Bankruptcy Cases Handled, and Keeli Rogers, Pro Bono Attorney Of The Year Award.
Lone Star Legal Aid Pro Bono awards recognize attorneys, law firms and community partners who donate their time and legal expertise to ensure that all East Texas residents have equal access to the courts.
The honorees will be formally recognized on October 25, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at the Brazos County Courthouse, 361st District Court, with Award Certificates from Lone Star Legal and Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman, Court Liaison to the Texas Access to Justice Commission. The Honorable Stephen Smith, 361st Judicial District Court Judge, and other Brazos County Judges are expected to be in attendance for the ceremony which will be immediately preceded and followed by a come and go reception sponsored by Lone Star Legal Aid and the Brazos County Bar Association.
The week of October 21st -27th was been designated as the “National Pro Bono Celebration” by the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service. The goal is to showcase the remarkable difference that pro bono lawyers make to our nation, to our system of justice, to our communities and, most of all, to the clients they serve.
