Houston, TX – And just like that, it’s almost hurricane season once again. Weather.gov’s Hurricane Preparedness Week (May 6-12, 2018) is the time to plan and prepare for a potential tropical storm or hurricane. Lone Star Legal Aid’s Military Veterans Unit and Hurricane Harvey Disaster Pro Bono Program are hosting a disaster clinic to help veterans resolve lingering legal issues from Hurricane Harvey as well as prepare for another hurricane season. The clinic will take place on Friday, May 11, 2018, from 10 am until 12 pm at Combined Arms, 2929 McKinney Street, Houston, TX 77003, south of downtown to help vets get ready.
Veterans are encouraged to attend and learn about their legal rights after a disaster. Light refreshments will be served and attorneys will be present to provide information regarding disaster-related legal issues like FEMA appeals, landlord-tenant issues, real property – title issues, recovery of important documents; and preparing for future disasters.
Veterans interested in attending should R.S.V.P. via email here.
